WearMouse — Wear OS Air Mouse 1.28

This application facilitates the remote control of various desktop and mobile devices via a Wear OS watch, employing Bluetooth connectivity without the need for additional software installations. Users can execute actions such as moving the mouse pointer with hand gestures or navigating presentation slides by tapping the watch screen.

Compatibility extends to a wide range of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux (Raspbian included), Chrome OS, and Android devices (including Android TV), provided they have Bluetooth capabilities. The setup process is straightforward: after launching the app and performing Bluetooth pairing (or using it with an already paired phone), users can take advantage of the following functionalities:

• Utilize the watch as a pointing device for presentations, with the ability to navigate slides via cursor keys.
• Engage in gaming by waving hands for control.
• Manage media playback from a distance, such as on devices connected through HDMI.
• Act as a VR controller in select Cardboard games (not compatible with Daydream).
• Display impressive control capabilities that may surprise onlookers.
• Control a phone linked to a TV.

The app includes four input modes: air mouse, touchpad, cursor keys, and keyboard input:

• Air Mouse Mode: This is user-friendly and features buttons for left and right clicks, adjustable motion tracking based on how the watch is worn, and additional functions such as click-and-hold and middle click. If available, rotating crowns can be utilized for scrolling.
• Touchpad Mode: Supports standard gestures like swiping for cursor movement, tapping to click, dragging with tap-and-hold, two-finger taps for right clicks, and two-finger swipes for scrolling. Exiting this mode can be achieved by either covering the screen or pressing a secondary button.
• Cursor Keys Mode: Tap sides of the screen for respective key triggers; double-tap to activate the Enter key and use long-press to exit, while swipe gestures are available for Escape, Backspace, Space, and Tab functions.
• Keyboard Input Mode: Offers both an on-screen keyboard and voice input options. Currently, only US English keyboard layouts are supported.

Additively, settings are available to enhance user experience. Options include stabilizing pointer movements to mitigate shakiness, enabling diagonal movements for cursor keys beneficial in Cardboard games, or reducing data rates for compatibility with older Android TV boxes. Users can also choose whether to maintain watch connectivity while minimizing the app.

Troubleshooting tips include:

• If encountering severe lag with pointer movement, toggling Airplane mode off and on may resolve intermittent issues with Bluetooth power management.
• For devices connected to TVs, switching to "Game" picture mode may significantly reduce input lag caused by image processing.
• It is advisable to disable wrist gestures when using air mouse mode to prevent unintentional activation of functions such as "back" or "home."
